What type of wines are made at Bodegas Franco-Españolas?

At Bodegas Franco-Españolas we craft red, white, and rosé wines under the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin (D.O.Ca. Rioja).
Our main brands are Rioja Bordón, a Rioja classic, and Diamante, the region’s first semi-sweet white wine.
We also create limited editions and aged wines that reflect over 130 years of history, alongside new additions such as MÁS DIAMANTE, Rioja’s first Red Blend.

What does the name “Franco-Españolas” mean?

The name was born from the union between French and Spanish partners at the end of the 19th century, triggered by the destruction of French vineyards due to phylloxera. From that union emerged our iconic winery, which today continues to write the history of Rioja wine.

How does the winery work on sustainability?

We care for every detail —environmental, social, and economic— as part of our commitment to the land and to the people. We apply responsible practices in the vineyard, production, and energy management.

What sustainable projects does Bodegas Franco-Españolas carry out?

We develop initiatives that promote the efficient use of resources, waste reduction, and social integration, reinforcing our role as a winery committed to the future. Thanks to these changes, we have achieved the Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection (SWfCP) Certification and the IFS (International Featured Standards) Certification at the Higher level.

We have a broad and flexible portfolio of trusted professionals in La Rioja who perfectly understand the technical complexity of our facilities. Any exception to this rule must be reviewed and expressly approved by management to ensure our strict quality standards.

Is it true that beer is not served at Bodegas Franco-Españolas events?

Yes, that is true; as major advocates for our culture, we do not serve beer during dining segments (cocktails, appetizers, banquets) or at cultural events.
